Seven years ago I rescued a Bernese Mountain Dog and promised him he’d get to play in the snow every year. Nothing makes Jake happier than a fresh patch of fluffy powdery snow, and not much makes me happier than seeing him so excited. In the years to follow adopting Jake, we moved from Washington DC to San Diego and now Dallas, and finding snow has become progressively more difficult. In Washington DC, we could count on a few snow days every winter. In San Diego, we could hop up to Big Bear Mountain in about two hours. But in Dallas, it’s a bit more of a challenge. So this year, I took matters into my own hands, rented a snow machine, and we had a white Christmas in Dallas…well, at least in our backyard!
I’d do absolutely anything for this fuzzy face – and can you blame me?!
Be still my heart.
Naturally I was also excited to see how Fletcher, our Irish Wolfhound puppy, would react to his first snow.
And it was even more entertaining than I expected.
Fletcher’s adorable bow tie and collar are from Designs by Wildside – an amazing custom pet accessory boutique.
At a mere 18 WEEKS old, Fletcher is rapidly preparing to dwarf Jake and our other gentle giants!
