Last year I sat down to reflect on the enormously wonderful year that was 2016. We had just moved Haute Dog Pet Photography to Dallas and were overwhelmed with the response. So much so that we took our business nationwide with our Runway Sessions. We didn’t think it could get any better, but boy did 2017 prove us wrong! With the fast pace of it all, we’re taking a moment to savor all the hard work and successes of the past year and express our gratitude to our amazing fans and followers.
In January I traveled to San Antonio for Imaging USA – an annual conference hosted by the Professional Photographers of America. I learned from some of the best people in the industry and poured over aisles of stunning artwork. After visiting it numerous times, I decided the albums handcrafted in Italy simply must be added to our chic, contemporary line of products, and I was soon thrilled to find out our clients loved them as much as I did.
In February, I trekked to Atlanta to learn an amazing new technique currently unavailable from any other pet photographer. Later in May, we would release our innovative line of Light-Stitched™ Pet Portraits.
March continued our fashion-forward trend in pet photography with a posh studio offering. The glamorous statement pieces of furniture, crystals, and exposed brick walls provide Dallas’ most sophisticated pups the chance to embrace their inner Haute Dog.
April took me to Orlando where I met Pickles the Sheepadoodle! Pickles’ mom had the sweetest things to say about their experience:
Working with Robyn was a fantastic experience from start to finish. She really took the time to get to know us and our dog which I felt helped deliver pictures that were catered to our pup’s personality. I was a little concerned on how she’d get our energetic 6 month old puppy to sit still and pose, but she did (she has an aresenal of treats and tricks up her sleeve)! Robyn was extremely patient and fun to work with – Pickles loved her!! Would recommend her to any one that is looking for high quality pictures of their fur-children 🙂
In June I headed east to photograph dogs in Washington DC and the Chesapeake Bay on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
July took us to the opposite coast, where we hiked the trails of San Diego with FIVE Huskies for their photo session.
In August, we took home the silver medal at the International Photographic Competition!
In September, we decided a brand modeled after the runways of some of the most fashionable cities demanded an international stage, and we traveled to London, Paris, and Rome to photograph some of the most beautiful dogs Europe had to offer.
Just 36 short hours after returning from Europe, I jetted off to Phoenix in October to photograph Milo among the desert beauty of Papago Park.
October was doubly exciting for our family with the addition of Irish Wolfhound puppy Fletcher to the Pope Pack! {Follow his off-the-charts growth and the rest of our crazy dog life on Instagram @hautedogpetphotography}
In November, we couldn’t contain our excitement any longer, and revealed to the world our EMBARK luxury international pet photography holidays. If you’re looking for the utmost in memorable experiences with your dog, contact us for more information and an application to reserve your spot in 2018 and 2019.
In December, we were thrilled that YOU loved our work enough to vote us reigning champions for Best Pet Photographer in Dallas for the second year.
This year we launched our partnership with Dallas-based Doodle Rock Rescue and had so much fun helping get their adorable dogs adopted!
All told, we photographed the smiling faces of 175 dogs in 2017!
2018 is already off to a great start, with three of our photos featured in the January edition of Dogs Today Magazine.
Thanks for joining us on the international dog photography adventure of 2017. Now hold on to your hats, because we are already hard at work on some exciting new Haute Dog exclusives that we are itching to announce in the new year!!!
In loving memory of the Haute Dogs we were lucky enough to love and photograph before they crossed the Rainbow Bridge this year – Toby, Dilbert, Flint, Bailey, Sam, Wrigby, and Natasha.
