April 2024 marked an incredible milestone for Haute Dog Pet Photography – 10 years in business! Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless moments of joy, love, and personality between pets and their people. This celebration wasn’t just about my journey; it was about honoring the clients, friends, and family who have supported this dream every step of the way. But the big question was: how do you celebrate a decade of Haute Dog magic?
The answer? Dog Mom Prom!
To bring this vision to life, I teamed up with Amanda, the Barkday Planner, whose expertise in planning made every detail shine. From decor to vendor coordination, Amanda’s touch turned months of planning into a truly unforgettable event. Held in September, the first-ever Dog Mom Prom was everything I had hoped for and more.
I was thrilled to celebrate with so many familiar faces – both human and canine. It was important to me that this event not only be a party but also give back to the causes closest to my hear. Guests were invited to participate in a silent auction benefitting multiple pet charities and to bring a bag of dog food to donate to the SPCA Drive Thru Pet Food Pantry. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we collected over $1,000 in dog food for pets in need!

The Place at Tyler served as the perfect venue, with its charming ambiance setting the stage for an evening to remember. Guests enjoyed a nostalgic playlist featuring hits from the ’90s and early 2000s while lining up for unique keepsakes like caricatures of their dogs decked out in prom attire. A shimmering black-and-gold backdrop hosted countless prom photo ops, and our videographer captured heartfelt messages from attendees.
Of course, no prom is complete without food and drinks, and we made sure both humans and pups were well taken care of. Alongside the buffet were B&B charcuterie and barkcuterie boards. The Allure and Alchemy bar served up signature cocktails and mocktails – the French 75 and Blackberry Smash – while dogs sipped on the bone broth cup “pup-tails.” The dessert tables were equally impressive, featuring pup-cakes and a two-tiered churro cake topped with figurines of Jake, my heart dog who inspired Haute Dog Pet Photography, and Puzzle, my soul dog who continues his legacy.
Puzzle, my date for the evening, and I both wore matching sparkly silver dresses. But even we couldn’t compete with the evening’s best-dressed award winners! Ziggy, a white poodle with dazzling rainbow-dyed fur, stole the spotlight alongside his parents – his dad in an iridescent suit and his mom in a green dress with rainbow shoes. They won the “Most Coordinated” award and set a high bar for prom fashion.
To cap off the evening, we crowned our Prom King and Queen. Aengus, a regal Irish Wolfhound in a top hat with coat and tails, was crowned Prom King, while Nora, my husband’s lovable Saint Bernard, in a lavender floral dress, won Prom Queen. Watching Adam and Nora strike a classic prom photo pose – him in a purple three-piece suit – was a highlight of the evening.
As I reflect on this incredible milestone, my heart is filled with gratitude. Celebrating 10 years of Haute Dog Pet Photography surrounded by clients, friends, family, and our beloved dogs was a dream come true. The Dog Mom Prom was more than just a party; it was a testament to the bond we share with our pets and the community we’ve built together.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Here’s to another decade of capturing the love, laughter, and magic that makes pets an irreplaceable part of our lives.
