National Dog Day: Celebrating Daisy May

It’s National Dog Day and we are celebrating an incredibly special pup, Miss Daisy May! Daisy was a stray found in Houston. She was emaciated, heartworm positive, had a mangled leg from being hit by a car that required amputation, and showed signs indicating she had recently given birth, though sadly her puppies were never found. Daisy’s family came into her life two years ago and turned all of that around. They gave her a loving home, cured her heartworms, spoiled her rotten, and were so excited for their now-10 month old son, Tristan, to grow up with such a great dog.

Unfortunately, an aggressive lymphoma has other plans, and Daisy’s amazing future is being stolen from her family. So now they are taking her on bucket list adventures every night, documenting their perfect girl on her own Facebook page, Saving Miss Daisy. They are visiting all of her favorite locations around Dallas – Grammercy Park, White Rock Lake, McKinney Square – and last night we were fortunate enough to join on their journey to Rockwall Harbor.

Daisy’s energy was infectious, and brought so much joy to everyone we met.

Their remaining time together may be short, but today and every day, we celebrate dogs like Daisy May for bringing out the absolute best in people.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your great life story, Daisy girl.
