Each year, PANTONE selects a symbolic color to represent global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude. Last week, PANTONE announced the 2018 color of the year – Ultra Violet – and had this to say about their decision:
“A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. Enigmatic purples have also long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance. Nuanced and full of emotion, the depth of PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.”
Here at Haute Dog, we couldn’t be more excited about their choice! Bright vibrant colors are the hallmark of our dog photos and we love to draw inspiration from fashion, nature, and art. Check out a few of our recent pet photography sessions around Dallas and beyond that were all about that Ultra Violet before we even knew it was the trend!
Sun sets make for some of our most favorite photos, and Dallas rarely disappoints with its colorful skies. Often we finish our sessions with magenta clouds and a bright orange horizon, and if we wait long enough, the sky usually fades into ultra violet before settling in to nightfall.
Ellie the Great Dane was photographed amongst this epic sunset in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.
Milo the pit bull mix rescue dog posed like a champ as an ultra violet hue consumed the sky over Papago Park in Phoenix, AZ.
Mr. Spaghetti the Shih Tzu starred in this photo at Rockwall Harbor, just outside of Dallas, TX.
We always love to incorporate nature into our pet photography, and these ultra violet flowers made for a stunning pop of color in these photos.
Caymus the English Cream Golden Retriever was kind enough to find us these exquisite tendrils among the urban architecture in downtown Dallas.
Even our clients rocked the ultra violet in their wardrobe.
Hendrix the Mastiff mix’s mom was gorgeous in her ultra violet dress for their session in front of the Dallas skyline.
We can’t wait to create more amazing artwork with this color!
