SHE SAID YES! | Dallas Dogs Who Helped Pop the Question

“There are certain questions that change the world… ‘Will you marry me?’…I think that tops the list” – The Light We Lost

It’s National Proposal Day and what better time to pop open some champagne and reminisce over photos of some of our favorite moments with people popping that magical question?!

Buddha, Maggie, and Sandwiches: A San Diego Dog Proposal

Last weekend I flew to San Diego to surprise my best friend from college as part of her proposal. I could barely contain my excitement as I hid in the bushes at Balboa Park and watched her stroll by with her boyfriend and three dogs. Hiding on the bridge behind them were their family and friends all waiting to chime in with a resounding YES when Drew asked for their blessing and support. I would try to describe the sheer joy of the day, but I think these photos do it best.

In the past year, I have had the honor and privilege of capturing not one, not two, but THREE proposals and I was so excited to see how each couples’ pups would be incorporated into this exciting moment! Each have their own beautiful and unique love story and these portraits hopefully capture the beginning of this exciting next chapter. The reactions and love that radiates from the humans AND dogs is so priceless and palpable. I can’t say enough how much I love being able to reflect back on these sessions on National Proposal Day!

Tex: A Flower Mound Dog Proposal

Kristin and Rob brought this speckled ball of energy into the family just a week before Rob got down on one knee and proposed using one of Tex’s toys. His humans were married just last week and I couldn’t be happier for this family!

Annie and Wrigby: A Dallas Dog Proposal

Annie and Wrigby’s parents got engaged on the shore of White Rock Lake. I coordinated with Steve in a secret squirrel operation before the proposal to obtain the ring and bring it to their session. During their photos, Wrigby’s mom, Katherine, noticed a special collar around his neck with a dog tag that read “Marry Me” and some beautiful bling in a very special pouch there too!! Steve got down on one knee, and as they say, the rest was history. We toasted with the happy couple and took more adorable photos with their fur babies as the sun slipped below the horizon.

I think the only thing better than puppies must be puppy-filled proposals. Much love to all!
